This year’s Moto G may be announced on July 28th

This year’s Moto G is coming soon. According to GSMArena, Motorola is preparing to officially unveil the heavily leaked budget Android by the end of the month, specifically on July 28th. The report indicated that Brazil will be the first to see a launch on the same day, followed by Chile in August, with a wider worldwide rollout later in the year.

The Moto G  is tipped to sport a 4.97-inch 720×1280 pixel display, a 1.4Ghz quad-core Snapdragon 410 processor, an Adreno 306 GPU, 1GB of RAM, 8GB or 16GB of storage,  IPx7 water resistance, a 2,470 mAh battery, and Android 5.1.1. The biggest improvement over the previous generation will be in the camera — we could see it arrive with a 13MP rear-facing shooter and a 5MP front-facing camera.

In addition, rumours are that Motorola’s Moto G will get support for Moto Maker, but again, no word on whether Canadians will benefit from this customization option. More likely is that the Moto G will feature exchangeable back plates, which can be purchased separately from the main device.
