Samsung will likely be announcing both the Galaxy Note 5 and the Galaxy S6 edge Plus at IFA in September.
According to the latest information by SamMobile, Samsung is preparing to unveil two new devices that will extend its reach into the large-screen smartphone market. The Galaxy Note 5 and the Galaxy S6 edge Plus will reportedly both sport a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED display at 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution, while following design lines similar to the GS6, with metal and glass. The report notes that since the devices will be constructed of mostly glass, these next Android devices will likely lack removable batteries and microSD card slots.
In addition, the Galaxy Note 5 will reportedly feature some homegrown Samsung technology in the Exynos 7422 SoC –- also known as ePoP — that features a 64-bit octa-core CPU, GPU, RAM, storage and LTE modem. It will reportedly launch with Android 5.1, with an upgrade to Android M in the future.
The Galaxy S6 Edge Plus, which is known internally as Project Zen, will reportedly be powered by a hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor, 32GB internal storage, a 16MP camera with stabilization, a 5MP front-facing camera, and a 3000mAh battery. It will also reportedly launch with Android 5.1.
Finally, these devices will both be offered in black, gold, silver, and white. If history repeats itself and Canadian carriers plan to add these to their lineup, we will most likely see the black and white variants first, then gold later on.
