South Park coming to CraveTV on July 1st

Some shows never seem to age and South Park, 18 years later, feels as relevant and insightful as it did back in 1997.

Bell seems to agree, as it has paid for exclusive Canadian streaming rights for all 18 seasons of the foul-mouthed, politically-motivated cartoon, beginning on July 1st.

According to a press release, the show’s online Canadian debut will “be supported by an extensive cross-platform media campaign on Bell Media properties including out-of-home, conventional and specialty television, and online outlets beginning today.”

Unfortunately it appears that by bringing the show to CraveTV, Canadians can no longer watch full episodes of the show on Comedy Network’s website, which provides large swaths of U.S.-based Comedy Central’s counterpart programming in Canada.

CraveTV is still only available to television subscribers on Bell, Telus, Eastlink and a number of other smaller providers, but based on legislation passed earlier this year, it’s likely that the company will begin offering the service to all Canadian internet users within a few months.

Recently CraveTV, along with Rogers and Shaw-backed Shomi, was added to Apple TV’s app lineup.
