Telus took to is media page this week to announce the launch of a new free public WiFi network in Alberta and British Columbia.
A work in progress since early last year, the network now consists of more than 8,000 hotspots across the two provinces.
Available at places like 7-Eleven and Fountain Tire, as well as at major sporting and entertainment venues throughout British Columbia and Alberta, including BC Place, the Richmond Olympic Oval and the Saddledome. The company also mentions that it’s in the process of installing WiFi routers in Edmonton’s Commonwealth Stadium and the Victoria International Airport.
Telus has also released a new “Telus Wi-Fi Finder” app, which is available on Android and iOS, to help people find nearby hotspots. Alternatively, there’s a website where the same information can be found.
