Instagram unveils three new filters, adds emoji support in hashtags

Instagram, the popular picture and video sharing service, rolled out three new filters today. This follows the five that it added back in December.

Hitting Android and iOS today, the app gives Instagram’s 300 million plus users the Lark, Reyes and Juno filters. Instagram notes that these are all subtle filters that will help enhance one’s pictures. “Lark desaturates reds while punching up blues and greens to bring your landscapes to life,” says the company’s blog post. “Reyes brings a dusty, vintage look to your moments… and Juno tints cool tones green while making warm tones pop and whites glow for vibrant photos.”

In its effort to appeal to more serious photographers, Instagram says it’s committed to releasing new filters more regularly in the future.

In addition, Canadian emoji lovers can now use emojis with their Instagram hashtags.
