LG will let 4,000 “test drive” the G4 before it launches

LG is preparing to let 4,000 people “test drive” the upcoming G4 ahead of its official unveiling on April 28.

The contest will be open to Canadians, as well as to residents of 14 other countries.

To enter, participants will be asked to answer a series of questions, with winning entries chosen based upon a person’s answers. Sharing the fact that one went through this process on Facebook, Twitter and other social networks will increase one’s chances of winning.

Participants who are selected to take part in this program will be given 30 days with the G4. During this time, they will be given various assignments. Completing these assignments will win a person additional prizes. Presumably somewhere among those assignments is the chance to win the actual phone.

“Customers are our best fans and we think this would be an exciting and unique way to get our most important mobile product of the year close to the public,” said Juno Cho, the president and CEO of LG, in a press release. “We’re putting the success of LG G4 in the hands of consumers before the launch because we believe they are the best judge of a great user experience, beyond just benchmarks and speed tests.”

The company says it will release more details on how people can participate in the test drive in the coming days.

We’ll update this story once that happens.

In the meantime, check out a preview of the LG UX 4.0 in action and some teaser shots taken with its F1.8 camera.
