In March, Apple launched its Reuse and Recycling Program in Canada, which allows iPhone users the option to trade-in their old iPhone to score up to $275 towards a new one. Today, the company is expanding the program to include devices from its competitors, as well.
On its site, Apple notes customers can “get credit when you recycle your eligible iPhone, iPad, or select smartphone from another manufacturer.” The company says it will accept Android and Windows Phone devices, as well as smartphones from BlackBerry.
The move certainly won’t hurt the sales of the iPhone, though it’s important to note that the company is currently not accepting trade-ins towards its upcoming Apple Watch, which launches on April 24.
Apple confirmed with us that the new trade-in program is now live across Canada and those interested can “head in-store for details.”
