Videotron once again named “Québec’s most respected telecommunications company”

Videotron

Videotron announced its year-end numbers earlier this week and revealed that its wireless subscriber base has increased to 630,000. The Quebecor-owned company has been slowly expanding its offerings, rolling out new devices and plans, and was also the first to unveil a “Netflix competitor” with its illico Club video on demand service.

The carrier’s patient and deliberate approach has snagged it the title of “Québec’s most respected telecommunications company” in Léger’s annual corporate reputation survey. This is the tenth consecutive year that Videotron has received the recognition, which basically means they own the province.

Videotron notes it is “part of customers’ lives, day after day” and this award is “a telling indicator of the strong relationship it has developed with Québec consumers.” Manon Brouillette, President and CEO of Videotron, said, “This is well-deserved recognition for our 6,000 employees, who strive to give our customers the best possible experience, day after day. We are working very hard to remain the most respected telecommunications company in Québec and this latest survey shows that people notice. It is a gratifying reward for our efforts.”

This past year saw Videotron launch its LTE network, which is part of a network sharing agreement with Rogers. However, last week it was confirmed that Videotron plans to radically grow its network after the company spent $31.8 million for 30Mhz of AWS-3 spectrum in Quebec and Eastern Ontario.
