Half-Life 2: Episode One lands on the Play Store but only for Nvidia’s Shield Tablet

Half-Life 2: Episode One is headed for the Play Store after initially making its Android debut in a Shield Tablet bundle for Black Friday. Nvidia this morning took to its official blog to announce that Half-Life 2: Episode One is now available to all Shield Tablet owners via the Google Play Store.

“Half-Life 2: Episode One is the first in a series of new adventures that extends the Half-Life 2 single-player experience,” Nvidia’s Jordan Dodge wrote, glossing over the fact that we’ve been waiting more than seven years for Episode Two.“Stepping back into the hazard suit of Dr. Gordon Freeman, you face the immediate repercussions of your actions in City 17 and the Citadel.”

Half-Life 2: Episode One was included in a gaming bundle offered by Nvidia earlier this month, but couldn’t be bought as a standalone title. This is the third Valve title to hit Nvidia’s Shield Tablet after Half-Life 2 and Portal.

The game is priced at $9.25 on Google Play, which is comparable to the $7.99 USD pricing announced by Nvidia.
