MTS expands LTE network to Carman

Manitoba regional carrier MTS has expanded its LTE network into Carman, a agricultural town with a population of 3,000 people. This is the 12th rural community to be connected to faster data speeds and MTS notes that “more than 850,000 Manitobans” have access to its LTE network. By 2019, MTS plans to cover 90 per cent of Manitoba’s population with LTE connectivity.

“I’m pleased that another Manitoba community will now enjoy the benefits that MTS’s fastest wireless network has to offer,” said MTS President Kelvin Shepherd. “LTE offers data speeds that are significantly faster than the current HSPA+ technology, ensuring customers enjoy their new LTE smartphones to the fullest.”
