Samsung Galaxy Camera 2 now available in Canada for $500

The Samsung Galaxy Camera 2 is now available in Canada at all major big box locations for $500.

This second-gen version of the shooter sports an improved design, runs Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean), a 4.8-inch touchscreen display, 1.6GHz quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, 8GB internal storage — Samsung says accessible memory is approximately 2.8GB — and can hold up to 64GB with a microSD card. It also sports WiFi, Bluetooth, NFC connectivity and an improved 2000mAh battery. Overall dimensions are 132.5 x 71.2 x 19.3mm, and weighs in at 283 grams, with plastic-like leather that’s found on the Note 3 and the new TabPRO tablets.

The 16MP 21x Optical Zoom shooter sports the same sensor as the original Galaxy Camera, but now with improved image processing system that “produces images of exceptional quality, unrivalled by smartphone photography.” The focus of the Camera 2 is on sharing as Samsung has embedded a new “Tag & Go” feature that makes it easy to transfer files via NFC with other connected devices. In addition, Samsung has also included 28 different “Smart Modes” that “analyzes the scene at hand; recognizing lighting conditions, scenery, objects, and then instantly recommends the optimal Smart Mode to ensure that the perfect shot is always captured.”
