Considering LG Canada has yet to launch the G Pro, it’s highly unlikely we’ll see its successor the G Pro 2. LG has just announced this new flagship for Korea and will show it off at the upcoming Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

Specs have been improved over the first generation G Pro, plus it includes a “state-of-the-art display and new UX features to take user convenience to the next level.” The G Pro 2 has a 5.9-inch 1080p IPS display, 2.26 GHz Snapdragon 800, 3GB of RAM, 3200 mAh battery, 13MP camera with OIS that shoots in 4K, sports a 2.1MP front-facing camera and runs Android OS 4.4 KitKat. LG has also included KnockON feature, something the company previously committed to bring to its devices.

Here are the complete specs:

  • Chipset: Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 (2.26 GHz Quad-Core)
  • GPU: Qualcomm Technologies Adreno 330
  • Display: 5.9-inch Full HD IPS (1920 x 1080), Slim Bezel

  • Battery: 3,200mAh (removable)
  • Operating System: Android 4.4 KitKat

LG noted in the press release that “Availability of G Pro 2 in markets outside of Korea has not yet been determined.”

LG, please make sure you keep the micro SD slot and removabke for the rest of the world. It wasn’t too wise from your side to remove it for the G2.. :(

    • Max Fireman

My LG G2 is hurting without the slot too… I am surviving for now.

    • Ro Tep

The Korean version of the G2 has it. That’s very strange. I don’t mind if the battery has less juice but I still can buy extra batteries for very cheap price

So it does state that this phone has it, no reason to expect otherwise :P

  • Max Fireman

What a gorgeous piece of phone. Ughhh please come to Canada. I am tired of all the Samsung phablets. I have a LG G2 and it’s a beast.

    • Ro Tep

LG really impressed me with the new phones they have released recently. If they can release it with the same feature, I can consider this one even if I have the Note3 in my heart lolz

    • Nadefrenzy

Sorry, but my Note 3 crushes this or any other phablet in the market. FACT.

    • Max Fireman

      Cool story bro

    • hyperhyper

I’ve got the G2 as well and I’m loving it.

This is a surprisingly pretty looking phone.. because it looks similar to the g2 and g2 was ugly as hell imo although I liked the idea of rear placed buttons and thin bezels.

  • KiwiBri

battery and camera sound great.. PLUS 3GB Ram and SD Slot.. nice

  • EvilWalnuts

    Removable 3200MaH battery OOOH

  • KiwiBri

hmm slighty taller than the Note 3..
Interesting to have those buttons on the back though..

  • wahwah

Looks very much like the nexus 5. That’s a good thing!

    • KEVIN

Agreed…the front is like a mix of the nexus 4 + 5…it’s got the ear piece of the 4 and the thin bezel like the 5 :)

  • Scott

Nice hardware… way too big. Wouldn’t buy it.

    • Bri Bru

      Same here.
I owned gnote 2 before but it was too big.
Especially when I own a nexus 7, it is a wrong combination.
