MTS announces domestic and international LTE roaming

Regional Manitoba carrier MTS has been busy building out their LTE network — now live in Winnipeg, Brandon, Steinbach, Selkirk, Portage la Prairie, Grand Beach, Victoria Beach, Ste. Anne — and today they’ve announced that their customers can travel abroad and still tap into fast LTE speeds.

Similar to recent Rogers announcement, MTS domestic and international LTE roaming agreements that will see their LTE-enabled devices work in over 200 countries. The roaming rates for talk, text and data differ depending on where you travel, but start at $3/MB.

MTS’ LTE devices are currently the Samsung Galaxy S4 and S4 mini, Galaxy Note 3, BlackBerry Q10, Sony Xperia ZL, BlackBerry Z30.

MTS also declared that they plan to cover over 90% Manitoba’s population LTE over the next five years.
