Netflix and others fix Android 4.3 incompatibilities

There’s a new Android version in town, and with it a few apps with performance or stability problems.

Netflix seemed to be the biggest outlier here, having advertised 1080p Nexus 7 compatibility along with Chromecast support, which required Android 4.3 to run. Until today, however, the app would crash and make a phone or tablet unresponsive if it happened to fall asleep when streaming, requiring a restart. The company put its top men on the issue and everything seems to be working well in this new version. Considering Nexus 4, Nexus 7 and Nexus 10 users have been updated to Android 4.3, in addition to any CyanogenMOD 10.2 users, this is a quickly growing set of users.

Opera has also updated its new Chromium-based browser, bringing an Android 4.3 crash fix and lots of other goodies. Now based on Chromium 28, users can expect faster startup times, improved scrolling and animations, video downloads and less memory usage.

Similarly, TuneIn Radio has improved its Android 4.3 experience, eliminating a particularly pernicious bug that showed a permanent notification even when there was no music playing.

Have we missed any apps that have been updated for Android 4.3?
