With every new device that Virgin Mobile announces they offer up the chance for their subscribers (members) to test them out. We’ve seen this happen with the HTC One, BlackBerry Z10, Samsung Galaxy S4 and now the QWERTY loving BlackBerry Q10. The rules are the same – all you have to do is tell them in a 100 words or less why you’d be an awesome Virgin Mobile phone tester.

Virgin notes in the fine print that “There are five (5) spots to be filled on the VMC Tester Team. The total retail value of the prizes available is $3,500.00,” which means that Virgin might price the Q10 at $700 outright other carriers. This QWERTY/Touch BlackBerry 10 device will be available on May 1st, but make sure you check out our review here.

Where is the Telus tester team?!

Perhaps the better question is where’s the Bell tester team? Considering that Virgin’s a “discount” carrier, you’d think that the “premium” parent company would be offering these benifits as well.

Just curious, have any MobileSyrup readers ever been part of one of these tester teams? What exactly do they ask you to do during your time with the phone? Are there any perks or benifits like having the ability to purchase the phone at a discounted rate at the end of the test period?

They let you keep the phone for free when it’s over.

You won’t need testers to know this thing is a POS, look at who made it

This is Telus’ workaround to the recent restrictions on the Temporary Foreign Workers program in Canada.
