Canadian carriers, coast-to-coast, have embraced the latest flagship from Samsung. The Galaxy S4 is expected to be available to those who pre-ordered tomorrow (Saturday, April 27th), then in-store on May 3rd. Rogers, Bell, TELUS, Fido, Virgin, Koodo, WIND, Mobilicity, Videotron, SaskTel, Eastlink and MTS will all be releasing this 5-inch Android, but there might be a shortage of devices on launch day.

In an email to us, Samsung Canada confirmed that “Due to overwhelming global demand of Samsung GALAXY S4, the initial supply may be limited. We expect to fulfill inventory to meet demands in the coming weeks.”

This news is not too shocking as Samsung USA communicated the same message yesterday. Surely our Canadian carriers will be coming out with their own statements of how this impacts those who pre-ordered, or possibly those who were planning to line up on May 3rd.

Update: WIND Mobile has sent us a note that “WIND Mobile is happy to announce that the Samsung Galaxy S4 will be available in stores on May 3rd. The S4 is already proving a hugely popular device and pre-registration numbers are higher than any other device before, including the S3.”

Update #2: Mobilicity comments: “Our customers are excited about getting the Samsung Galaxy S4. Pre-orders are being fulfilled early next week at the Authorized Service Centres, which were featured on our Galaxy S4 pre-order page.”

Update #3: TELUS’ statement says “Our customers are highly anticipating this device and we’re getting great responses with our pre-orders. At the same time, we’re working closely with Samsung to fulfill pre-orders as soon as possible.”

Update #4: Here’s the statement from Rogers, “The pre-orders and reservations of the Samsung Galaxy S4 have been great and our customers are very excited about the launch. We’re working hard to get the Galaxy S4 to Rogers customers who pre-ordered and reserved first. When you reserve a device with Rogers, you will be notified when the device has shipped and is available for pickup. If customers are required to wait more than 21 days to receive their Galaxy S4 device, they will receive a $50.00 credit.”

Update #5: Bell has offer up a $50 credit with this statement – “Bell’s Galaxy S4 pre-orders have gone extremely well. Some Bell pre-order customers may receive their new GS4 tomorrow, but others may take a few days longer. To show our thanks, we’re giving all our pre-order customers a $50 bill credit.”

Update #6: Virgin Mobile says “Virgin Mobile’s GALAXY S4 pre-orders have gone really well. Some of our Virgin Mobile Members who have pre-ordered the GALAXY S4 may get their hands on the smartphone tomorrow, while others will have to wait a few more days. Our Members have shown their excitement for the GS4 and to show our thanks we’re giving all of our pre-ordered Members a $50 bill credit!”

Update #7: Samsung has now taken to Facebook with further news:

“Samsung is excited to see the level of pre-orders that Canadian consumers have for the GALAXY S4. Samsung Canada had intended to ship pre-orders by the 27th, but due to the overwhelming global demand of the Samsung GALAXY S4, we will not be able to meet the pre-order date of April 27th for all customers. These orders remain the highest priority with carrier and retail partners and will be fulfilled in the coming days.”

More soon…

Bell told me if I pay off my pre-ordered my S4 is guaranteed. :) So I did. Hopefully, it wasn’t BS.

    • Dimitri

It all depends on how many devices Samsung sends to them. You can not blame the carriers or the reps at the stores if Samsung sends limited stock to the stores. Blame Samsung on that.

    • Rio

While that is true, Bell was guaranteeing you an S4 if you pre ordered before yesterday :) So either you get one of you get some sort of credit

    • EmptyTome

They were guaranteeing for the 27th. I doubt they are going to hold that promise.

    • Dimitri

Yes but Samsung Canada just said tomorrow is a no go. Read this. Its on their Facebook page as well.

“Samsung is excited to see the level of pre-orders that Canadian
consumers have for the GALAXY S4. Samsung Canada had intended to ship
pre-orders by the 27th, but due to the overwhelming global demand of the
Samsung GALAXY S4, we will not be able to meet the pre-order date of April 27th for all customers. These orders remain the highest priority with carrier and retail partners and will be fulfilled in the coming days.”

    • EmptyTome

Don’t promise something unless you’re absoultly sure. Oh well, if they are held back too long I can go with the HTC ONE.

    • Dimitri

Dont promise anything? Bro go read Samsung Canada facebook page. They posted this on there.. SO i am sure.

    • EmptyTome

They posted one day before the release. Do you know the definition of making a promise and breaking it? We’re release the S4 to pre orders on April 27th. One day before the launch let’s announce we’re pushing back the date. Not only they broke a promise they bait and switched.

    • Dimitri

Blame Samsung on this, not me lol. They screwed up really bad & this is one of the reasons why i am not going with Samsung. They have done this 3 times now with their device. S2 LTE, Note 2 & now S4.

    • EmptyTome

Not blaming ya, I’m blaming the carriers and Samsung. They broke a promise and did bait and switch. They should of done the pre orders in early April. You should see their face book page now. People aint happy lol.

    • Larry

“we will not be able to meet the pre-order date of April 27th for all customers” Keyword ‘all’

Doesn’t that mean that they will only ship a percentage of the reserved phones instead of all that were reserved?

    • Dimitri

Not anymore. Read what Samsung just said on their Facebook page. Here you go. ” Samsung is excited to see the level of pre-orders that Canadian
consumers have for the GALAXY S4.

    • bembol

Well I just got a E-Mail informing me I MAY NOT get it this Saturday and offered $50 credit if I don’t. I guess it’s not so bad, I can use the $50, I mean I’m loving my hTc One.

    • Eric Tang

Me too, rocking an HTC One and loving it…Also pre-ordered an S4 but definitely not a rush :)

  • YUyu

price will drop to $0 in 6 months, go get it now,

    • vn33

Wish I have the funding to get the latest and the greatest. I’ll just wait 12 months and get it at almost half price, no contract from the people who CAN afford to buy the latest 7 greatest !

    • Evayo

Sounds like you could use a better job, or are you still in school?

  • David

Marketing gimmick in play, who really thinks Samsung can’t crank out enough units in time. Its a false sense of scarcity to make it feel “exclusive”

    • Stephen

Samsung aren’t HTC, people that aren’t MobileSyrup readers actually want their phones

  • Walter Feddern

I was in position 1 for the white S4 with Rogers, and no ship notice, so doesn’t look like any are going out for tomorrow.

    • Me OpenId

looks like your the only loser here. You parents must be really proud of you.

  • jeff kaczor

    $100 credit for what?

    • Drew

are you trading in your phone?

  • EmptyTome

    Bell’s statement is:

“Thank you for pre-ordering the Samsung Galaxy S4TM with Bell. Due to shipping delays from Samsung we are unable to confirm when your phone will arrive in store, however rest assured that pre-orders will be prioritized upon shipment arrival. We value your business and for any inconvenience this causes, we will be giving you a $50 bill credit on your first bill upon activation. We will notify you when your phone arrives in store and we appreciate your patience.”

    From Bell email.

  • Ivan

I pre ordered my S4 on April 19 and was suppose to receive mine in store on the 27th. Now I got a email from bell saying they can’t confirm the date when I will receive my phone. They said they will give me a 50 dollar credit toward my bill. This Is all after me paying 199 on a 3 year contract and a 400 dollar deposit up front!

  • Danielle

If they alk took pre orders well then samsung would know how many every company needs, then there wouldnt be shortages….

  • Beastmode

Just one more reason to get the BEST PHONE the HTC One. Read the reviews and stop wasting your money on the Samsung/Apple S4. $199 for a piece of Plastic….please what a waste!!!

    • EmptyTome

      The 5 is aluminum….

  • Mark Murphy

I just received a text from Bell, my SGS4 will be available for pickup in store tomorrow. I preordered on the 15th and got the call last night about receiving $50 off my bill. Looks like its $50 for a one day delay which is fine with me.

    I’m in Newfoundland.

    • Penni Pope

I also received a text saying mine will be available for pickup in store tomorrow. I also am in Newfoundland and apparently there were only 2 others that pre ordered it at the same store so I don’t know if that makes a difference.

    • Mark Murphy

Text was bullshit, they didn’t get them in.

    • Penni Pope

Did you get your phone after?

  • EmptyTome

Aparantly mine will ship on monday.

  • Rand om Has ard
