Samsung Galaxy Discover lands at Bell

Right on schedule is Bell with their release of the uber entry-level Samsung Galaxy Discover. This design is somewhat of a flashback to the original Galaxy S, but specs and pricing are dramatically different. The Discover runs Android OS 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, has a 3.5-inch display with a resolution of 320×480, 3MP camera and an 800 MHz single-core processor. As for the pricing, Bell has this for free on a 3-year or $199.95 no-term.

And they give the shittiest of turds stock android. #DouchebagSamsung

    • Brad F(anboy)

TouchWiz can’t run on the shittiest of turds (although I’m sure they tried).

    • GlassbackBadIdea

So let me get this, Telus sells it for $99 prepaid and Bell sells it for $199, $100 more! what a rip off company Bell is.

I’ve never been a huge fan of on-contract low end phones. As long as you’re going to be dishing out >$2000 to them over the period of 3 years, you might as well just pay an extra $150 up front and get a decent device that lets you take full advantage of what your plan and the network has to offer.

  • Khav

Still a better deal than the Blackberry Curve from last week.

    • Brad F(anboy)

Coincidentally, neither of them is BB10.

    • chm985

Hahaha I’d much rather have that cheap blackberry. Android would be terriable with this tiny processer.

  • Dylan K

    Wait, wait…

LTE on a $200 phone? Stock ICS? 320p screen?

    I am so confused.

    • Sean

      Nope no LTE on it

    • Dylan K

Than Ian needs to proofread his stuff, it says LTE-enabled in the article. GSMArena agrees with you, I checked after posting the comment.

    • Netguru

Right on. It is absolute nonsense to think an “uber entry-level” phone would have LTE. LOL

  • senrap

That phone is $100 @ Telus, and has been for the last 2 months…$200 Bell? C’mon Man!!

  • Q

$199??? Telus had this for $99 on prepaid at launch, then down to $79 all through Christmas… Wow, Bell, get with the program. That is such a rip-off.

    • Petephone

yes, plenty in stock at this price at Walmart.

  • JC Denton

The only thing to “Discover” with this phone is that it sucks and the contract deal tied to it sucks.

  • DavidN

Bell is riping off consumers. This is not a $200 phone. Telus has this for about $100 on prepaid. I picked up one at Bestbuy last week for $70.

  • skazzers

This phone is selling for $79 Telus right now in Futureshop’s January sale.

  • EAK47

    LOL..

Next thing you know they will release a Nokia 3310 at 500$

Hey, that could be a great idea!

  • Cell Hell

$200? Bell must feed their customers crack!
