The Samsung Galaxy Ace II will be making the rounds at various Canadian carriers this month. Yesterday we let you know that Bell/Virgin will be launching this Android-powered Ice Cream Sandwich device on November 15th for about $250 outright. Now – a Facebook exclusive – by Koodo Mobile reveals that the Ace II will be heading towards their stores too. El Tabador proudly declared that “The Samsung Galaxy Ace II x is coming! A phone that has everything most people need at an affordable price.” You could expect the price to come in at the same range as their competitors.

Android is made for poor people.

    • Alex

You were made to serve dumb people

    • Nexus 4

      DOA!!!!!!!!!!
      NEXUS 4 FTW!!!!!!!!!!

    • priceIsRight

      It’s all about the price!
      This is A great phone….if its $100-150!

Thre is no Ace 2X (with the X)
      and it has a 480 x 800 pixels, 3.8 inches screen and 768 RAM.

The question is why did they release the LG Optimus L3 at $130??

    • BB10 IS HERE

Finally the first BB10 device, the Samsung Galaxy Ace II is HERE!!!!

Android is made for smart people ;)

    • nope

nope, it’s meant to be cheap so everyone can have it.

  • Kyle

Wow, kind of overpriced considering I bought my Xperia Ray from Telus for 129, and it has better specs than this phone.

  • phonescience

So, it’s a repackaged GSI with ICS? Not too bad; the GSI would fly with better software.

  • kris

250 outright is dumb, 180 max. given the choice people will pay 50$ more for a nexus 4

  • zzzZZZZzz

It’s gonna be a tricky business to position medium range phones nowadays given the Nexus 4′s price.

  • crimsona

So why isn’t the Galaxy S1 getting ICS again? This has exactly the same specs…

    • qu3becker

Nope, the Galaxy S has just 512mb of random access memory. This one has 1gb and this is what is missing on my Nexus S (which is almost the same phone as the GS). Gingerbread is less of a memory hog than Ice Cream Sandwich.

  • Saif

    Nexus 4 is better option

  • ASH

    Nexus 4

  • Mike

$250 would be to high of a price for this, since the Samsung Galaxy S2 X is way way better and priced at $300.. Koodo should price this at $175. Then it would sell.

  • Brian

While everyone here might be onboard with the Nexus 4, it’s unlikely that maybe 1% of people will even consider it. You think a middle aged soccer mom is going to consider a Nexus 4 when she goes into a mall to pickup a phone, especially when the Nexus 4 is online only?

Don’t get me wrong, the Nexus 4 is a great price but to think it’ll push many sales away from mid-ranged phones is delusional. Most consumers are not as savvy as most of us who browse MobileSyrup and other sites.

    • HB

Yeah that’s a good point, that’s one reason they should also sell this at carriers. Hell I’d like to use my positive Koodo tab to get this, I hope they will have it soon enough.

      @HB

      Carriers don’t like unbranded/unlocked phones.

      Soccer Mums LOVE online shopping!!
Shopping online for a phone is nothing new.
If you are talking about the 45yrs olde and older crowds you might be right, but at least in Canada and the US where online shopping is very common, buying a phone from google might be even easier from going to the store and try to choose amongst 15 different phones, most of them more expensive!

I think all it takes is a bit of word of mouth to get the …soccer ball rolling!

We shall find out in 3 weeks!
N4 for $360 or any other phone for $450-550 or i5 for $700?

Quote “$250 would be to high of a price for this, since the Samsung Galaxy S2 X is way way better and priced at $300.. Koodo should price this at $175. Then it would sell”.

And after Koodo launches the Samsung galaxy S3, the S2 X will go down it price to $250 or lower. I think Koodo should price the Ace 2 at $125 to be competitive. The S3 will be priced at $350. And everyone on Kijiji or used Ottawa will Cr@p their pants cause they will be losig tons of cash and can only sell used ones for $200 bucks,,lol
People right now are trying to sell them for $500, what a joke lol

Wasnt there a dual core galaxy ace? with a dual core 800mhz cpu?

    • Josh

Yes, from the pictures and specs, I’m guessing this is a re-branded Galaxy Duos with a single sim trey. Also other articles list this is the S7560M, the Duos was the S7562. The Ace 2 was the I8160.
