Netflix has now updated its iPhone app to take advantage of the new iPhone 5 screen. This is one of the first media apps that has been updated for the 16:9 ratio of the new iPhone and it looks and works great. Pair it with an Apple TV for some AirPlay Mirroring (and perhaps a U.S.-based VPN service) and you have yourself a pretty fantastic collection of modern movies and television shows for $7.99/month.

This update comes shortly after a revamp to the company’s iPhone and Android apps to put more emphasis on what you’re currently watching, and recommendations based on what you’ve recently seen.

You can update your Netflix for iOS in the App Store.

Developers, make an app for 3.5″, 4.0″ and a 9.7″!

Oh and if they decide to come out with an iPad Mini… well, make that one too, because how else can you say 700,000 apps when it is one app multiplied by 4-5 (Free, Paid, iPhone 4/4S, iPhone 5, iPad…)

You get the point. Time to die Apple.

I get that you’re trying to bash apple but your argument is invalid. I don’t think all Android phones have the same screen size and resolution.

16X9? Are they allowed to do that without being sued. I mean RIM and Android are already using that rectangle shape.
