Flipboard for Android updated to version 1.9.6

Quick app update for those who use Flipboard for Android – one of the most beautiful magazine style apps on the market is now at version 1.9.6 and available to devices running OS 2.2 or higher. Here’s the complete change log:

– Improved navigation within sections, visible when you tap on section’s name
– Easier access to Google Reader feeds and folders
– In-app hints that expose helpful functionality
– New shopping cart features (Gilt Taste section)
– Improved performance and bug fixes

    This isn’t a bad app by any means. I’ve tried it a few times and it works well, but I prefer Zite for my newsreader app. It doesn’t have the “flashy” look to it, in fact the simple design is something I prefer, and you can fit more content onto your screen instead of one or two big picture blocks of a story.
