Nokia continues to tease augmented reality, wireless charging features for tomorrow’s phone announcement

Get ready to throw away your cables… if the Lumia 920 is the only piece of electronics in your house. Nokia continues to tease its lineup of new features in light of tomorrow’s Windows Phone 8 announcement.

In a series of short YouTube clips, the Finnish phone maker is emphasizing convenience, simplification and minimalism, all things that made the Lumia line and Windows Phone 7 such media darlings.

The latest of three previews released today shows our blonde protagonist bundling up and throwing away her various plugs, presumably to make way for the effortless charging capabilities of the updated Lumia series.

And since Nokia has just taken its City Lens app out of beta, it’s going to be presumably bundled with the new Lumia line to facilitate the phones’ extended augmented reality functionality.

While the individual clips don’t give us much detail about new features, together they give us a glimpse at where Nokia is going with its new phones, attempting to differentiate using existing technologies, but implementing them better than anyone else. The same can be said of its PureView camera technology.

We’ll be in New York tomorrow for the big unveiling — be sure to check back.
