When Sony unveiled their second Android-powered tablet, the Xperia Tablet S, they noted that it would be available on September 7th in the United States, with pre-orders already live. There will be 16GB, 32GB and a 64GB versions and Sony Canada declined to comment on when this would be hitting our fine land. Well, taking a peak at their site somewhat reveals that we can expect it sooner than later. Listed are the 16GB and 32GB versions, respectively priced at $399 and $499, but currently shows that it’s “out of stock” with no other details.

We’ll find out more about the availability. The Xperia Tablet S will ship with Android OS 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and is promised an upgrade to Jelly Bean.

After the Sony IFA event, the site went live and it listed it as a pre-order, with an expected ship/in-store date of 2012/09/07.

Disappointed the 64GB won’t be coming north of the border.

Hmm, $499 for the 32GB model. That’s more competitive than I was expecting.

$100 more to go from 16 to 32GB? Looks like Sony took a page out of “How to rip off your customers” from Apple.

The new Sony Xperia Tablet S features an SD card slot. For a more cheaper memory expansion as a option.
