Samsung Galaxy S III may be released in black, according to retailer listing

The Samsung Galaxy S III was, surprisingly, without a black variant when it debuted in July. While the pebble blue version is plenty attractive in its own way, many users take for granted that the standard black colour will be offered to them.

A leak from U.K. retailer Carphone Warehouse shows, in addition to the blue and white versions, a new SKU for a black Galaxy S III. It’s possible that, like AT&T’s exclusive red version, an English carrier could be getting exclusive distribution rights to the black model, but we’re hoping that’s not the case. With the Galaxy S III’s lovely Hyperglaze finish, I think a black version would look quite nice.

The above capture jibes with a capture from an earlier Galaxy S III Olympics ad, in which the black model was featured. It’s possible, however, that the colour sampling could be off in the ad and that is actually a pebble blue version, but we’re hoping for the former.

What do you think? Would you buy a Galaxy S III in black?
