Angry Birds has been the most popular mobile game ever for a few years now, and Rovio recently brought to market the Space variant, which was downloaded over 100 million times in short order.
The Finnish game studio, which expanded recently with the physics-based Amazing Alex, has announced the next Angry Birds Space game, Red Planet, will be released this fall. While we can’t tell from the teaser trailer just what will be different, you can expect more high-flying, gravity-defying bird-pig hijinks. While we’re not sure whether the update will be free, or an entirely new game a la Angry Birds Seasons or Rio, we’re assuming the former since it’s being touted as an update.
