1GB of data on $80.00 plan. that kinda sucks. From the looks of it as well, doesnt seem like CID or VM included.
Fail

seriously, i would gladly pay $80.00 a month for a phone plan if it included all of the above on your $80.00 MAX plan and unlimited data (4G or LTE), CID and VM
throw out the Circle Calling feature cause if you get unlimited anytime minutes…what the difference if the person is on the same account?

Koodo is wayyyyyy better than all of these plans – don’t forget if you want CID/VM on Fido, it’ll cost you a pretty penny.

Why would I pay $60 for 1GB when the current plan includes 6GB for the same price?

So, no price changes. They’re just bundling everything together now.
500Mb = $25
+500Mb = $5
So 1GB = 30
$30 unlimited incoming plan + $30 Data = New $60 Max plan
$50 Canada-wide plan + $30 Data = New $80 Max plan
Nothing has changed, they just bundle it now…
Oh, and those of you with the 6GB data option for $30 need to realize that was either a special offer or given through retention. It’s not something that just anyone can get at any time.

Wow … I really don’t like the direction some of these CellCo’s are going. Fido just got crossed off the list of potential new cell phone company to consider once my current contract is up in a few months.

Pay 85 from virgin for ul talk/txt in Canada, and 3gig vm/Cid, just no full subsidy which doesn’t matter to me. I look at overall cost of ownership!

@Richard: Right now, until the plans change, you can get way more from Fido for that price and the subsidy to boot.
$50 – Unlimited Talk and Text in Canada
$30 – 6GB Data
$6 – Vm/Cid
======
$86
Now tell me how good your plan actually is? *LOL* Oh, and you Wind fanboys, I’m not stuck in a zone!

I dunno, Ive been with Fido for 10 yrs, they have bad customer service, expensive plans etc….
Ive been with Wind for 12 months only once received bad reseption was in Whistler…cheap rates in the USA and I have two phones with them with unlimited everything and is still less then fidos 80 dollar plan…Until a company can offer unlimited North American for less then 50 a month with data and voicemail dont see a point of switching….

Don’t forget to do the total calculation… many of the Fido phones are offered on a 2-year contract instead of tab. If you sign up on a $150 TAB from another carrier and you are on a $25 plan, you won’t pay that off for 5 years.
So depending on the phone offer, along with term and monthly fees, Fido isn’t always a bad choice.

More importantly! Will these plans be optional, alternative to the current plans? What if someone just wants basic talk and text?

Wind, Public and M.C pple : u find fido and other carrier are expensive good so stuck with what u have, its not all the pple who stay in there home zone.
Im a heavy user but i wont go for those camp.
im with fido dont mine to pay extra money to have a good plan in canada as Alex said 86$ but i pay the vp 16$ so total 96$ ( check online for other countries ) and find a good Cellco who give unl pp and unl data even AT&T removed the unlimited data and Verizon is working on it.
Now for Koodo Virgin they a have good plan yes 1 or 5 $ less than fido ( do your math with the exact options )
Bell Telus Rogers have some simillar plan.
SO EACH ONE can find his NEED. IF YOU DONT GO OUT OF UR HOME ZONE THE CANADIAN POPULATION ISNT BASED ON UR STYLE OF LIVING.
So stop beeing neg
P.S: yeah i hope fido with have unl data even if i have to pay an addition of 20$ i dont mind.( i know im with fido since 2004 never got a bad service or a drop Call )

Jason is a perfect example of a subdued Canadian with a Stockholm syndrom.
That’s right, Jason, bend over, and take it like a man, knowing full well that Big 3 prices are over-inflated, and their plans are artificially limited, so they can collect even more from overages.
“Now shut up, and open up your wallet!” – say The Big 3 to a gullible Jason in handcuffs and chains…

Rogers has a Plan that for $60/ month includes
-200 mins
-Unlimited evenings and weekends at 6-7
-My 10 Canada wide
-unlimited text
-6 GB of data (WOW)
-just add $7 caller ID and Voicemail
So for $67/ month you get a pretty good plan
Also keep in mind fido unlimited text does not include pic and video message that is an extra .35 cents a text
if you go on a business account with Rogers you get $100 bill credit and an extra 100 mins for the whole term agreement

i like the sound of some of the plans like the 50$ …. unlimited with in GTA wihich most people uses and 500 mbs … still cheaper then the current plans now $35 cithy fido + $25 500 mbs data = 67.80 with taxs ….
the new $50 plan bassically $35 city fido + 500 mb for 25$ plus basic call display voice mail comes to 63.28 SOME!! new plans are still cheaper if you do the math

Fido just repackaged their plans in a menu style so it’s easier to pick an option. The 80$ plan which someone mentioned as being pricey is canada wide and unlimited minutes with a gig of data which is of great value. Also if you have financial issues that arise the value packs which have caller id and voicemail can be removed to save you money if need be instead of it being all included and not being able to remove it. In the long term that option is more flexable. I feel Fido is a great brand and their prices reflect that. it’s not discount brand it’s a value brand.
