Angry Birds Space is fastest-growing mobile game ever with 50 million downloads

Angry Birds Space has become Rovio’s most popular game ever with over 50 million downloads since its release last month. To recap, it was downloaded 10 million times in its first three days, and 20 million times in its first week. In just over a month the Rovio creation has become, in their words, ”the fastest growing mobile game yet” and something of a sensation. Considering Angry Birds is already the most popular mobile franchise ever, the Space race is even more impressive.

The app is available for multiple platforms, including iOS, Android, OS X, Windows and BlackBerry PlayBook. It has not yet come to Windows Phone, but Rovio hasn’t ruled it out.

Idiots, they could have had 50.5 million if they had released it for Windows Phone too.

(Poking some fun at my favourite mobile OS)

could it be just me? or I am just got tired of Angry Bird~

    • Curtis

looking at the download rates…. Yes… it is just you!

  • Matt

Meh, another mildly amusing for five minutes mobile game, just what I need.

I’ve never understood the attraction of Angry Birds. Meh maybe I expect better from mobile games considering they’ve been around since before the days of Sega’s Game Gear. All these “popular” games are about as engaging as watching paint dry. Especially Temple Run, it’s 2012, how are people still engaged by games on rails?

Consider that the vast majority of people up until now have had no interest in Gaming what so ever.

To someone that has played games since the Game Gear and the Game Boy were out, yes games like Temple Run and Angry Birds may not be the cats meow.

But to some one of the “wii Generation”, who is just discovering that games are not for people that wear pocket protectors, wear neck beards, or know what the hell a 20 sided dice is for, these are new, challenging and exiting games.

A whole universe is opening up to them. This is a market that did not play Mario, could not tell Zelda from Halo.

Let them have their fun, after all, that’s what these games are for…. having some fun.
