The HTC One X was first the Edge, then the Endeavor, and we seem to know more about it in prerelease than most devices after their announcement. We know almost every spec, including the Tegra 3 processor, 1GB RAM, 4.7-inch HD screen, and 1800mAh battery. Software-wise, we have Android 4.0.3 with Sense 4.0.
The shot above looks to be very much like a Sensation, or a largely version thereof, but don’t fool yourself — this is a modern-looking device. It also has three capacitive touch buttons (instead of four) which goes against what we’ve heard, that the One X would be one of the first non-Nexus devices to use on-screen buttons in Ice Cream Sandwich. Nevertheless, the One X looks pretty nice and is definitely read to be announced — we just hope the blogging media haven’t stolen all of HTC’s thunder.

Quad-Core, 720p HD Display, great camera. Wow.

Why only a 1800 MaH battery? It looks bulky enough, why not shove a droid razr maxx battery in it? Tegra 3′s 5th companion core won’t make that much of a difference if Sense 4.0 is on board.

Love how the screen curves at the edges. Now the only issue is, does it attract dust under the screen like every other HTC before it?

I just ditched my Sensation for a Galaxy Nexus for that very reason.

Yeah that’s why I chose to mostly stick to Samsung, not to say they don’t have their issues either, but they’re either minimal or not as noticeable as a giant clunk of dirt/dust under your screen. Never had dust under my screen with any of the recent Samsung smartphones I’ve used, and when people do report it happening, it’s a very little amount of people, unlike HTC devices where it seems like everyone’s reporting that issue.

At a Bell store near you, for the low cost of your life for 3 years at $80/month, excluding CiD & voicemail.

@jay chan.
Still same bloated piece of crap that it always was and completely not necessary as ICS is beautiful enough. It’s one thing if you want to differentiate your devices, its another to mutilate android and slow it down.
HTC always finds a way to find the smallest battery possible and put it in their devices so they get abysmal battery life.
It’s ok, we’ll have an Galaxy S3 announcement soon enough and this will fade in obscurity just like the sensation against the GS2.

just disable/uninstall any bloat apps that you don’t use! but sense 4.0 is certainly going to be at least in part in terms of smoothness to samsung TW for sure!
Please only comment when you have actually tested it, don’t comment based on impression on the last generation sense!

I’m glad they avoided on screen buttons, but the small battery is not a good sign. It also looks like just another generic HTC Android phone, which I’d be hard pressed to distinguish from any of the others they released in the last 2 years or so.
I’d say HTC’s best days are behind it, unless it can gets its act together in a big way. Too bad, because I still think of my N1 fondly.

If HTC sense 3.0 ran lag free (and it mostly does on the sensation), nobody would complain how bloated it is. SO with a processor like this (and a slimmed down 4.0), one should appreciate the effort they put in sense. It is by far the deepest skin for android, the mail widget alone is genius.

Yeah “If”, and it doesn’t, one of my best friends has had it since release and the dual core snapdragon struggles to keep up with the skin. You can see just how much of the system’s ressources Sense is eating into and its mind boggling.
And this “slimmed down” thing is coming from HTC, I’ll believe it when the reviews come up, because judging by the screenshots they seem to have made it worse.

is your friend on GB 2.3.4? I do agree with the resources, based on how much ram is available at any given time. I think HTC is listening…

I’ll check with him, but he does tend to keep it constantly updated.
It’s in HTC’s best interest to listen. Honestly, I think maybe HTC should think about starting its own OS called “HTC Sense”.
Android at its core is complex and the marriage of the skin and the OS requires insane hardware to make it smooth, and they seem to have this obsession with not giving it the juice it needs. Maybe with a locked down HTC Sense OS they could have a smooth experience and personalize it to their heart’s content.

well said, hence the outcry for a Vanilla ICS experience…
it’s doable.

Love my Sensation, screen never had any dust underneath it. If this is the successor to the Sensation then I’m in.
As for Sense, I’ll just do what I did with my Desire and Sensation. Root and install an AOSP ROM.

Am I the only who think that a 1800 mAh is not enough? HTC already has a bad reputation for their cell’s bad battery life…this isn’t helping.

Not sure if I can buy another HTC device. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve had two (hero and DHD)and enjoyed both very much.
However, where I live HTC gets very poor reception! I always thought it was just the Telus network, but two days ago I borrowed a friends Motorola defy to see if my son wanted to buy it. The Defy gets great reception in my house (not talking about bars, I’m talking 20 dBm better). DHD gets -103dBm in my basement and the Motorola gets -77, to -83dBm in the same location. My nephews bb torch gets -77dBm in my basement as well.
Too bad, I really like HTC stuff.

That’s bad news considering the Sensation is an enormous phone. This is coming from a guy that loves HTC. I think they screwed up.

Looks awesome, atleast it’s not an iPhone copy design like Galaxies are. And i bet we wont see anything over 1800mah on the SIII. I just wish HTC kept the roboto font thing.
