CyanogenMOD 9 pre-Alpha available for Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 WiFi

It’s been a pretty long wait, but the popular Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 WiFi has its first official (though unsupported) builds of CyanogenMOD9. Though folks have been building the custom Android 4.0.3 ROM from source for months, this version is finally endorsed by Cyanogen himself, Steve Kondik, as posted on his Google+ wall.

Apparently there are a few bugs still to sort out, and the camera doesn’t work, but if you’re one of the many frustrated users seeing their friends’ Transformer Primes with Ice Cream Sandwich, this is going to be very exciting. If the news is any indication, CyanogenMOD 9 is ramping up to support a lot more devices besides the Galaxy Nexus and Nexus S, though we’re not going to hold out hope for a final release until all the bugs are worked out.

If you’re brave (or foolish) download CM9 for the Galaxy Tab 10.1 (GT-P7510), remember to back up your current ROM before flashing this in Clockwork Recovery. Note that this is ONLY compatible with the WiFi version and not the 3G version.
