Update: Rogers and Fido BlackBerry Curve 9300 OS 6.0.0.666 now available to download

While many BlackBerry users are patiently waiting for the upgrade to OS 7.1, most are still on the BlackBerry 6 OS. Rogers customers who have the Curve 9300 are in the same boat as the masses, but an upgrade is now available. If you’re rocking this older Curve you can now download OS 6.0.0.666. As usual, make sure you back up your device before doing so.

Update: Fido has now made the OS upgrade to 6.0.0.666 available. Link is below.

    • “Thou shalt not steal” is one of the ten commandments which Rogers is breaking with robbery-like fees. :O

  4. FYI guys, the EULA for this update grants me both the ability to post on your Facebook wall AND your eternal soul. Just so nobody’s surprised here, okay?

  5. i find the 666 to be done in poor taste, and it’s just another scandal that RIM will have to face. Imagine all the Christians boycotting RIM because of this stupid number.

And can anyone explain to me how 6.0.0.666 is different from versions 6.0.0.000 to 6.0.0.665? They should just upgrade you to BlackBerry OS 7 instead of forcing you to stay with 6 or buy a new 7 device. That’s just as bad as, if not worse than, Android phones stuck with 2.1 or 2.2 officially. :(
