TELUS LG Optimus LTE complete pricing, $629.99 outright

TELUS’ first LTE-enabled smartphone will be the LG Optimus LTE. The screen on this is gorgeous. A 4.5-inch “true HD” display that has a resolution of 1280 x 720. This will run OS 2.3 Gingerbread, but will eventually be upgraded to OS 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Pricing is the following: No-contract is $629.99; 1-year is $579.99; 2-year is $529.99 and the 3-year term is on a promo price of $99.99 ($50/month plan is required). TELUS will officially be releasing this tomorrow when their LTE network goes live – they’ll also be including an 8GB microSD card in the box. Read our full review here.

    • Telus says that LTE is not going to cost more than regular data:
      They just INCREASED the prices:
      1GB- $20
      2GB- $35
      6GB- $60 SIXTY dollars!

The old 6GB for $35 is gone!
Telus is right: regular and LTE data will cost the same now.

    • With other operators “regular data” is cheaper than “LTE data” so its up to you if you want to buy a more expensive phone with lower battery life and pay more for the same amount of data.
Or just use a non LTE phone; which is cheaper, has better battery life and pay less.
Telus removed that option and now regular or not will have the price of LTE data.
Telus is aiming for the higher ARPU no doub about that!

  2. These LTE tablets are priced my mental patients.

With a LTE iPad3 in March, why would anyone buy this warmed over piece of junk? As a android user, these tablets need to be much cheaper than the comparable iPad to even have a chance.

Also, without ICS, don’t even bother.

    • Got mine from bell, dont listen to SAM, while im not knocking the gal nexus in any way, my friend has it and its not like its super fast compaired to the optimus, they seem about the same for browsing through menus or any other activites on the phone, nor has it any other killer features besides ICS, which im my opinion is way over hyped, been playing around with it on my tab and seems more like a design overhall then anything else, the only new feature Im looking forward to is fine grained controls for app data usage. Check out xda forums for tips on the phone, Im really liking it so far, lte speeds, native mkv playback that works great, the screen is awesome.

  4. You can get this on ebay or kijiji for around 300 bucks….. why would you pay double that price for that. knowing LG quality and support, I wouldn’t tie myself to a contract for this one, nor buy it for that 630 price.

If i’m so desperate for an LTE device, would stick with the Note. having 3 carriers selling this phone will force all of them to compete who’ll give the ICS update first. It’s always the case with previous galaxy phones. Bell or telus update release always pressures the rest of the Robelus group to follow up with an update shortly.

  7. Until LTE is available in 99% of rural canada for OPTIK TV, PHONE, and 60 GB or more high speed internet, it’s all just a waste and is worth nothing. Absolutely useless!!!
