From the looks of this internal doc it sure seems that Mobilicity is itching to clear inventory, specifically all their Samsung devices. Could be because the Galaxy Nexus is officially launching on February 6th… which is the same day all the above devices go on sale. As you can see the Samsung Nexus S drops by $50 to a low $299.99, followed by the Galaxy Mini to $129.99 ($40 off), and finally the entry-level G-Touch hits $79.99 outright. Something to consider – the only device that will receive an upgrade to OS 4.0 is the Nexus S.
(Thanks tipster!)
Food for thought; Koodo has already dropped theirs to $300, yet you still can’t get it a la carte.

i’d also suspect making room for newer devices, like anything with Android 4 that will be released in the future, or Windows Phone 7 devices that are due any time.
Nexus S is the exact same price at Koodo for a new device. No gift cards, just an instant rebate, and a chance to put that on a Tab. They’re two different versions, however: Koodo has the Big 3 (PCS) HSPA+ version while Mobilicity has AWS HSPA+.
Samsung Galaxy Mini is a good alternative to Alacatel OneTouch. Both have the horrible QVGA screen resolution, which is quite pixelated and unpleasing to read. The LG Optimus series have a better display and overall better hardware.
But yay for the device price cuts! Now what about the plans?

Not a bad price cut, from $500 to $350 and now $300 over in a period of 10 months?

Not bad. Personally, I wouldn’t shell out $549 for the Galaxy Nexus, as long as the Nexus S is $299 and can be upgraded to 4.0.

I would like a hint as to when this device will be upgraded to ICS (Android 4.0). After the issues and rollback last month, it’s been radio silence from Google. This is the I9020A so there still isn’t an official build. Anyone have a scoop?

actually, I’m running Android 4.0.3, the official ICS update from Google, before the rollback. It’s quite nice, and works really well.

This is an amazing price for the Nexus S.
For all the users complaining about stock 4.0, why not get a custom ROM that has AOSP 4.0.3 and many other improvements/optimizations? You can currently get stable builds…

Google won’t be releasing the ice cream sandwich 4.0, they have pulled it permanently because the Nexus s isn’t fully compatible to run the new update properly, and ice cream sandwich isn’t ment to run on a phone with buttons. This is one reason why Koodo and mobilicity are trying to get rid of stock fast before Google makes an official announcement about the nexus s not getting the new update. Google hasn’t made an announcement as of yet, because they told the companies first to get rid of stock as fast as possible. Hence why the price cuts.

with this new update, the problems are:
-Battery issues
-camera issues
-laggy issues
-freezing issues
-some features don’t work properly
-face unlock is missing, because it won’t work on the nexus s
-volume issues
-wifi & bluetooth issues
- lots of force closes
-phone shuting down on its own
-some people complained that they can’t even use their phone after the update and bricked the phone.
So google decided to pull it permanently because they found out its not compatible for this phone.

Anything wrong with this phone running 2.3? Practically every app available now will run on this phone (unlike on ICS). If you want to buy a phone NOW, for $300 it’s a great find.

Just want to confirm that the Nexus S is in fact $299. I just purchased one about 55 minutes ago at Church and Dundas Sts. With the sales tax it came to a total of $338.99
A bargain compared to it’s new brother Galaxy Nexus which is a whole $678.
