BlackBerry World 2012 “sign up for updates” now live, teases you’ll “be the first to know about the latest innovations”

Bring it, RIM. Bring it! The Waterloo-based company has been hammering home their new tag line of “Be Bold” in 2012, now a new “sign up for updates” page has gone live to promote the upcoming BlackBerry World conference (May 1st to 3rd). Official registration will open early February and RIM promises that you could be “Be the first to know about the latest innovations and information on the BlackBerry solution, including the Next Generation BlackBerry Platform, BlackBerry 7 OS, and more”.

Apparently some of the discussion topics will be:
- BlackBerry 10 platform and roadmap
- BlackBerry PlayBook tablet OS 2.0 for the enterprise
- BlackBerry Mobile Fusion
- BlackBerry Business Cloud Services
- BlackBerry Mobile Voice System
- BlackBerry Enterprise Server management tips and troubleshooting
- Trends and vision for the future of wireless from industry experts

Hopefully this is where RIM will officially showcase the new BlackBerry 10 smartphones and PlayBook. Many rumours have surface about how many devices will be released this year – everything from 10 to only one. The only truth confirmed by RIM is that they plan on releasing a new BlackBerry 10 device sometime during “the latter part of 2012″.

  1. Attendants will receive a free playbook, a bunch of estimated dates and a bunch of “Buzz words”that should make them wait to the “latter part of the year” to get their new phone.

  2. Shouldn’t they stop any development in OS 7 NOW, and FOCUS 100% on BB10?
They LOST Xmas in 2011,and for 2012:Chinese new year; Indian New year, Spring break, Winter break (In the southern Hemisphere) Summer and Back to School in the north one etc.
They went from 18% to 12% market share in the US from Oct-Dec or 6% every 3months, double that and they will be close to 0% (I would think 5% in September) which is in the territory where you can’t recover. And that was without Windows/Nokia phones! First the US and then the rest of the world follows, they are just following Nokia.
They better STOP OS7 development and put all their efforts and $ in reducing the price of their current lineup to make them more attractive and make it until October.

  4. “latest innovations”
What’s innovation? OS 7 is a joke and a half, still slow, crack just as OS 6. Would not expect OS10 will be any better.

    • How about being able to navigate for 8 straight hours and use 40 minutes of streaming radion and some BBM Music whilst roaming abroad for only 9mb? Thats still innovation today. I stopped streaming after 40 minutes thinking I probably reached my 25mb daily roaming data, next day I was able to check and I only used the 9mb.
