Bell BlackBerry Bold 9900 users have been graced with a bit of a bump up in software – you all can now download OS version 7.0.0.585 (up from 7.0.0.261). As usual, before downloading make sure you back up your device.
Update: OS version 7.0.0.585 is also now available for Virgin Mobile, WIND Mobile and SaskTel.
Grab it here from BlackBerry
(Thanks James!)
Bell stinks!

Can other Blackberry models use this, or only the 9900′s?

Im completely confused, i ran the software – it did some installations or something like that and after that it just disappeared.. what is that supposed to be? i have no idea.. can someone walk me through this step by step?

I have noticed a large difference. Those new to the blackberry. Make it easy by updating on the phone itself. Use the universal search using the word update.
This is only a minor update. The major update will be when networks release 7.1. My 9900 is running great.
Remember to try clearing the cache if the phone is slow. As well turn down the brightness on the screen and the battery will last much longer. Although this depends how much usage the battery goes through. I average over 12hrs. I do make phone calls regularily and find its great.
The 9900 out of the entire line is the best, and the flagship of the fleet so to speak. I am with Virgin mobile and they are really good to me. (It is actually Bell) I find the customer service is above average and as well the prices and coverage are great. The signal whether its the mobile network or wireless is great.
