Fido launching the Motorola RAZR “in the next few days”

Yesterday we informed you that Fido was going to be releasing the new Motorola RAZR soon. We didn’t know a release date and thought that it would show up sometime in Q1 2012. However, employees have already started training and the screenshot above says “this Android powered device is coming in the next few days”. Definitely a good sign for the low-cost carrier, and certainly this will be their best handset – check out our full review here.

More soon!
(Thanks tipster!)

    • Bestbuy is selling this for $0 with gift card on Rogers. How can Fido possibly beat that?

First, shooting a Razr thru pop & popcorn and now this *sigh*. Please…

  4. That’s pretty cool that Fido is getting the Razr. Their current Android selection is very poor

  5. They don’t have the lineup like Virgin does but this is certainly an improvement over their current lineup and never say no to more choices

  6. nice to see a smaller carrier like Fido get this phone. Too bad Wind or Mobilicity never are able to get good phones.

    • “Smaller” carrier?? Lol…Fido is the nations 4th largest carrier. Wind/Mobi/Koodo/Solo and Virgin all combined aren’t bigger.

  8. If they get the Galaxy Nexus, they would have a pretty decent lineup.

    • We have the Nexus S… We won’t be getting the Galaxy Nexus, or the Galaxy S II, or any other “front line” smartphone. Fido is a bargain brand. That’s like going to a dollar store and expecting them to have Royal Doulton dinnerware. It’s not going to happen. You want front line phones, you gotta go to the parent companies.

  10. As a Fido employee I can tell you that “the next few days” doesn’t mean the next few days. Fast Track is a very poor source for gathering information (whomever the tipster is) because information in it is usually poorly written. Heck, the iPhone training module still says that the iPhone 4 has expandable memory. We have no pricing information on these phones and “display” models aren’t even available for ordering yet. You’re looking a minimum of 2 weeks away, probably mid January. While this training module IS confirmation that we’re actually getting the phone (Yes!) nobody can give a date estimate until notice actually comes through our official channels, meaning our activation system. Anything else is pure speculation.

  13. Galaxy Nexus on the 15th in most locations (dealers might be late launching), Razor is supposed to launch on the 15th…

That’s from official channels (I work for Fido).
