This is a good addition. If they can get Galaxy Nexus, the big three should start sweating.

Any word on whether they have plans to add the Nexus to their lineup anytime soon? With the Nexus S they took months to get it after the big 3.

hd1 you are mistaken. It came out at the same time on all carriers around April 8th
From this very site, Mobilicity: http://mobilesyrup.com/2011/04/08/mobilicity-nexus-s-now-available-online-for-499-99/

@hd1 You’re incorrect. All carriers (Big 3 + new entrants) launched the Nexus S at the same time.

probably January, only Bell seems to be getting it this year
Everyone in Canada got the Nexus S at the same time, they all got it months after the US

None of the Brampton stores have stock either. I was told maybe tomorrow. Some kind of issue with delivery.

Exactly! I was hoping to get one today but NONE of the stores I called have it. “Beginning of next week” is what most of the guys who answer my call say.
These were official CORPORATE Wind stores!

Phone is quad band, but it’s got the 4 North American bands; it should work on Rogers, Telus, Bell, but it won’t work with every carrier overseas.
The bootloader is locked. The Telus version of the phone is unlockable though HTC’s dev site; if this is identical I’d guess it might be unlockable too.
I’m not clear on whether this is carrier-locked and whether that can be easily undone. I assume it is locked.
The synthetic benchmark scores are curiously low considering the phone’s specs. The GS2 and GN massively outdo it. Battery life is less except for standby time, which is longer.
On the other hand, much higher pixel density than the GS2, and unlike the GN it does have an SD slot.
Oh, tradeoffs.

Actually, Wind will clear your remaining windtab+ balance after 3 years. So you don’t owe them anything after 3 years. I think it is better than the 3 year contacts you sign with the big 3. Check their webpage:

the phone will be yours after 3 years. No need to pay the remaining.

yah but if you actually read the terms of the WindTab+ you’d realise that after 3 years of service if your phone hasn’t been paid off by tab payments then they’ll pay for the remaining balance. MUCH better than any 3 year contract with the big bullies

Shouldn’t you be busy trying to remove Carrier IQ off your Rogers phone?

Unless there is a very good reason, no one in their right mind would cancel their service a month before their 3 years are up, especially after using the service for 35 straight months. Your argument is moot.

@Bobinsky
My point exactly, the WindTAB pretty much forces you to stay for the full 3-years.

A 5th grade math student can solve the second part, give it a try. I’ll give you a hint, the constant is “$409″. You should be able to calculate the rest.
This is the reason why I think people should take a quiz to sign contracts.

Got a call for pickup yesterday from a wind store. This phone is not that bad actually, only thing Galaxy nexus has better than this phone is the HD screen. And Also the ICS which amaze 4g will be upgraded to sooner or later.
