We’re not sure how much stock there will be on hand, but if you want the upcoming Galaxy Nexus Toronto is the place to be on December 7th. Earlier today it was Best Buy that came out with a pre-launch offer by selling the anticipated Android 1-day early, but now Virgin and Bell have stated that their Yonge and Dundas locations will also sell the Galaxy Nexus ahead of schedule. Virgin noted on Twitter that the good times will start happening at 1pm sharp. Lots of choices to grab some tasty ICS that day… who’s buying?

If it didn’t cost an arm and a leg for smartphones nowadays, then I could pick one up, damn 3 year plans

    • Simon

Yeah you said it 3 years contract plus taxes and fees it’s about 800$ to own a Galaxy Nexus quiet expensive..

    • ASD

DONT BE FOOLED. THE MOST IMPORTANT THING THAT IS MAKE A CLEAR CALL AND A LASTING BATTERY LIFE THIS PHONE CANT PROVIDE.

What do you mean an arm and a leg these days? 10 years ago Fido sold old-school one-colour screen Nokias and Motorola’s for well over $600. They could barely handle text messaging.

Nowadays, you can get a Nexus or other smartphones for less money and they’re like powerful computers in your pocket! The price of handsets has come way down while the technology has gone way up.

even to buy phones outright….not many people have $600+ to spend on a phone…I love mobile devices, but I cannot justify spending more then some people pay for rent, on a phone. I am stuck on a 3 year term for my Nexus S ( amazing phone and i get ICS :D) but the hardware is still old…and for me to get a new phone, I have to buy outright, wait 2years and upgrade or pay out the a*s for early upgrade. Cell company’s should realize that 2 years is 100 years in the mobile world and should have their plans and contracts created accordingly to the environment>
In the UK, i forget which carrier, you can get the Galaxy Nexus Free on a 2 year contract, as long as your bill is $65 a month though, but still, why can’t one of the big 3 offer something like that, instead of dropping a device to $0.01 for a device that no one wants.
They are making it much harder to stay up to date nowadays.

    End rant

      I hear ya Justin.
I bought my Nexus S the first day it came out at Telus and believe it or not that was just around 10 months ago. I thought it was the best thing since Slicedbread when I got it (and at the time in Canada, it might very well have been). But now only 10 months later we are at ICS and dual cores and faster processors and more and more toys for a tech junky like me to spend my money on, but alas I have to wait 2 years and 2 months to get a cheaper upgrade OR I just sell my unlocked Nexus S and pick up the Galaxy Nexus for half price (full price minus Nexus S selling price of course)

Hmmmmm anyone want a Nexus S?

Similar to Japan, the U.K. is much much smaller than Canada in area. This makes it that much cheaper for carriers to provide service to 90%+ of the population. This is one of the reason’s for “the big three” not having that type of selling power. Other reason’s include a huge lack of competitiveness, as well as the desire to bend people like you and me over :)

Will you be able to buy a no-contract SIM-free Galaxy Nexus?

  • THS

Omg I JUST ordered mine of the Virgin pre-order system…..

OMG I HAVE TO WAIT A FEW EXTRA DAYS !!!

IT’S THE END OF THE WORLD !!!!

    /s

  • THS

Seriously though, $25 plan with unlim incoming, decent flex data, no contract.

And I only paid $450 for the phone (200 on the tab)

    Liking Virgin mobile already :)

  • Perpugilliam Brown

Do not buy this till 2012!

  • shaggyskunk

Yeah, but will they have more than TEN? :-) rogers, are you paying attention?

  • ASD

THIS PHONE IS A PIECE OF SHIT IN CASE YOU DONT KNOW AS YET. $100 I PAY MORE THAN THAT FUCK YOU.

  • Jesse

I got a holiday thing from Bell today. It shows that you can get the Galaxy Nexus with no contract. Which is weird, why print something out saying no contract, yet on your website you are stuck with 3-years,

Wouldn’t that count as false advertisement and Bell can get sued for that?

  • whocares

LOL, samsung’s hyping up it’s relese like it’s an iphone or something. Samsung blows!

    • Justin Credible

A Nexus release is definitely bigger than an iPhone release. Samsung is hyping it, yes, and so is Google. Rightfully so. Android rules.

  • Pranoid

Hopefully that we will be able to buy it without a 3 years contract…
