TELUS offers Eastern Canada customers free long distance, must be “porting in from Bell”

Earlier today we posted that Bell re-launched a promo for new customers in Alberta and B.C. that gave free Canadian long distance. Well, “in direct response to Bell extending their Canadian Long distance promotion in Western Canada to December 31, TELUS is introducing a new promotional voice and data rate plans in Eastern Canada with no long distance charges. All minutes included in these rate plans will be Nationwide”. According to the doc this TELUS promo is available to new customers porting in from Bell who sign up for the $60 and $70 voice and data plans, plus located in ON, QC, NB, NS, NF and PE. Again, this is on until December 31st.

(Thanks tipsters!)

  1. 200 Canada-wide minutes. It’s a pricey plan for such a bucket of minutes, and honestly, i don’t know how many of my minutes are before 18h.

  4. Gotta love promotional plans. Its always nice to see those plans that only NEW subs can get leaving us old and faithful subs with nothing great. Been with Telus since it was Clearnet in Ontario and not once have they given me anything that I asked for. Yet I am still here. Guess I am a firm believer its better the devil you know then the devil you dont know. *sigh*

    • Surprising RichieRich…I have found Bell to be that way!!! That is why I switched to Telus and it has been smooth sailing ever since.

  6. I guess we all know the drill. Tomorrow Bell and Rogers will offer the same plans here in the east. It is amazing how these carriers will not act unless they start feeling the flame to their tail. I guess that’s what they call competition when one of the big 3 starts to offer what they call an amazing plan on another carriers home turf. Why couldn’t they also add U.S. Long Distance, it’s not like it would cost them anything extra! The $60 and $70 price points are double what the new entrants are charging.

  7. What’s funny is how BELLUS share a network and pretent to compete like this in the first place. It’s probably all PR.

  8. For once, can they be original and offer something decent to their CURRENT subscribers … like make CID a STANDARD feature ??

    • Be happy that they give out a 3-message voice mail to all customers. i wish every provider would do that. But no, Robell want you to pay extra for VM+CID on postpaid. i’m not talking about flanker brands like Koodo that include neither.

  11. These guys do not even look at what their sub brands Koodo and Virgin are offering.

Since a while Koodo offers unlimited Canada Wide(No zone, no long distance) for $45. No contract…
