Not really sure when Bell brought back this promo, but yet again extending the love to Alberta and British Columbia. Big Blue is giving customers who sign up on a new 3-year term with a $50 monthly voice and data plan free long distance calling. They say you should “hurry”, but the deal ends December 31st, 2011. In addition, Bell is handing out a $50 in-store credit that can be put towards the device or an accessory. When this promo was originally launched in September Bell gave a $75 in-store credit.

(Thanks Harry!)
Or, just go to Koodo where you don’t need a minimum plan or a contract.
Just sayin..

Does the free long distance calling work for incoming calls, too? For example, if I receive a call when I am outside of my local calling area, would I have to pay extra?

but… but… I already get free long distance on a plan that’s less than $40/month WITHOUT a 3-year contract.

I’m really sick of these companies shafting their existing customers.
And what’s with all the news we so often hear that talks about our plans being not all that expensive – you can only get a decent plan on robelus if you sign a 3-year contract, so buying a phone outright is pointless.

It is receiving and outgoing call, even if you are outside of your local area. Its very nice, but it would be nicer if the existing customer could have it without renewing there contract.
