Bell launching Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE on December 7th

We’ve known that Samsung had intentions to bring the Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE to Canada because they posted a “coming soon” label on their site. We can now confirm that this tablet and all its speed will officially be hitting Bell shelves on December 7th.

This will be Bell’s first LTE tablet and will have the potential of reaching peak download speeds of 75Mbps – realistic speeds are between 12 and 20Mbps. If you’re out of the LTE coverage area you’ll fall back to their 4G HSPA+ network. Specs for the 8.9 Tab have it with a 8.9-inch WXGA display (1280×800), running OS 3.2 Honeycomb, a 1.5 GHz dual core processor, 3 megapixel camera with 720p HD video recording, 2 megapixel front facing camera and a 6100mAh battery. We’re getting pricing for you…

More soon!
(Thanks tipster!)

  4. Why can’t we just cut out the carrier and buy these 3G tablet directly from Samsung?

Just cutting out the middle man and we consumer will save!

    • Google tried that already with the Nexus One and that didn’t go too well.

There’s more money to be made by going 3rd party than OEM.

  5. Running Android 3.2 Honeycomb? I thought 3.2 was in beta/renamed to ICS 4.0 since that OS is unified between smartphones and Tablets?

  6. 8.9″ is a great size. 10.1 is a bit on the large, IMO (not that it is bad nor without its own market). LTE FTW! wonder if i can unlock and bring it to rogers. lol

Another pickup by Bell. I guess Samsung and Bell are definitely in bed with each other.
When is Bell gonna move their LTE to Vancouver?!

  10. Good news is, it’s not using the sub-par Tegra 2. Basically, it’s the same Snapdragon SoC as found in the Rogers GS2 LTE/AT&T Skyrocket.

  12. If this is LTE and coming from Bell, expect it to cost a sh*tload more than what most people are willing to pay.
