TELUS to release the Ovation MC679 4G LTE Mobile Internet Key

This is definitely a good sign, actually a great sign. TELUS has been relatively quiet on their LTE plans, only formally announcing that they’ll go live sometime “early 2012“. Competing carriers, Rogers and Bell, have already set their LTE networks live and started to offer internet sticks, tablets and smartphones. Now, according to this internal doc, it shows TELUS will be releasing the Ovation MC679 4G LTE Mobile Internet Key. There’s no timing or price points, but it will be before the year is done. Before we get too excited about TELUS LTE, it’s noted that the stick is can work on their dual-carrier network and possibly reach speeds of 42Mbps (average is probably around 7-14 Mbps). The highlight is that this sick is “LTE-capable” and can be used when the “TELUS LTE network is available”, reaching speeds of up to 75Mbps.

We’ll have more info soon!
(Thanks tipster!)

  4. I feel as if TELUS needs a rebranding similar to Mobilicity.
This year was about Simplicity, next year is about making things better (while tossing simplicity out the window).

Plus, TELUS’S Branding seems as old as Bell’s branding with the face…

  6. Just a couple of spelling error.

    1) “…it’s noted that the stick is can work on..” Don’t need the “is”

    2) “The highlight is that this sick…” should be stick

    Trying to help :D

    Otherwise, great article :)
