RIM is giving away $100 worth of free apps to their BlackBerry users, this was caused by the recent service out. Yesterday, DriveSafe.ly Pro was made available for download, and today it’s Bubble Bash 2. This is usually costs $4.99 but you can grab it for free, “Compliments of BlackBerry”. More app titles will be coming soon, namely – SIMS 3, Bejeweled, Photo Editor Ultimate and Vlingo Plus.
Grab it here from BlackBerry
This is a great way to “make up” for the issues they had. I love the apps that they are giving away.

this is a cheap tactic. give us reliable service. i am an enterprise user, i dont need more apps like this to waste time on. just ensure that you never break down again – don’t try to butter me up with some garbage games that i would never buy anyways.

I think enterprise users are getting a month’s free maintenance. This is a lucrative market for RIM, so I don’t think they can really afford to do that again any time soon.
I’m not defending RIMs incompetance, I think it was bloody rediculous how slow they sorted out the problems. Just letting you know that they’re giving you more than some free apps (which I think is just a marketing tactic to get people to use apps more – I wonder what percentage of BB users have accessed the apps store?).

Apparently RIM forgot that the majority of its users are business ppl that don’t care about games.

Just downloaded it but deleted it, I don’t want a GAME asking permissions for access to my phone’s system.

As a BUSINESS user, what good is a game to me. How about giving us reliable service instead of useless game apps. If you cater to the business community, perhaps a tool I can use instead of the crap being offered.

Productivity apps would be nice. I would’ve been significantly happier with a $100 App World credit than $100 worth of apps that pretty much no one would want. Also, having to wait for 1 app to be released per day is ridiculous. If you’re going to release these garbage apps, release them all at once. On top of the fact that this game sucked already, it’s also in Spanish. Come on RIM, you’re gonna have to do a lot better than this.

You know what would have been better than this app? ANYTHING!!! I would have much rather had $100 worth of App World CREDIT than $100 worth of apps that no one wants. And to make matters worse, you release ONE app per day? If you’re going to release crap, at least put it all out at once so if there IS something that someone wants, they don’t have to wait 4 weeks to get it. Ridiculous. On top of that, the reviews on the Bubble Bash download link say that it’s in Spanish!!
Come on RIM, you’re gonna have to do A LOT better than this.

I realize a lot of business people own BB but you also gotta realize the companys is making up for mistakes with apps because a lot of teenagers own the phone too and want to switch to iphones now

I realize this was a major pain in the …… however in the 12 years I have been using bb (and selling them for one of the big canadian carriers) this is the second major crash – ever! Albeit it was the worst. True games aren’t good for all, but enterprise users are getting a promo as well that probably suits them better.
If all the apps were released at the same time – App World would probably crash.
Overall it is truly better than simply saying “Sorry”. Now hopefully some of these apps will be compatible with the playbook.
