WIND to release the BlackBerry Bold 9790, plus the Bold 9900, Torch 9810 and Curve 9360

It’s already known that WIND Mobile is prepping to release the BlackBerry Bold 9900, Torch 9810, Curve 9360 in the coming weeks – all devices that will be a very welcomed addition to their lineup. Taking a look at this internal screenshot shows another new BlackBerry smartphone will make an appearance, the BlackBerry Bold 9790 “Bellagio”. This is a scaled down version of the Bold 9900 and is powered by BlackBerry 7 OS, comes with a touchscreen display and a full QWERTY keyboard. Other rumoured specs have it with a 1.2GHz processor, 5 megapixel camera, Wi-Fi and NFC capabilities.

The 9790 also was listed on a TELUS internal doc a few months ago, so you can count on every Canadian carrier having this available. No price points were listed and this is expected to drop in November.

Yay, a BlackBerry 9790 exclusive to WIND!

  • Potent Potable

What a bad time for this news story to come out.

(if they release it first, that is…)

It is good for RIM to make AWS devices. Even if you’re not a fan of them and think they’re underpowered, BB is popular with businesses and those who like they keyboard will buy them.

haha keep trying wind spend more money that u dont have..GO PM!!

    • Jonesy1966

And what’s the best phone PM has?

      The Buzz.

That says more about PM than you’re willing to admit.

  • Phoneguy

GO PM!!! Let’s get some more OLD phones! We are finally going to get some good android phones!!! :’) dream come true!

By the way, I have a WIND phone and I love it :)

I didn’t think the Torch 9810 was capable on Wind’s AWS network? I thought the only Torch capable was the 9860 (full touch-screen Torch).

  • ToniCipriani

Why is the 8530 listed for WIND? I thought it was CDMA?

  • Unknown

Adam: T-Mobile is also getting torch 9810 (it’s rumour to go on sale on November). So I am not surprised WIND selling Torch as well.

  • ggal

few weeks??? shouldnt you b saying days… can someone pls confirm when the bold 9900 will be coming out??

  • carl

What about the torch 9860? This site said they would be getting it :(

  • Nadim

The 8530 is an odd comparison not sure why that is out that is not a Wind device. I guess the only devices Wind can get their hands on are Blackberry. Sucks that Telus got the SGS 2 and Amaze 4g both have AWS from T-Mobile. Wind needs to focus on Android and not launch 3 Blackberrys. No AWS iPhone hurts them but they need to launch a big Android device soon.

This is not a phone launch document. It’s just a general comparison chart sent to all providers. There is no 9810 Torch for AWS lol.

  • JC

    Sorry, not YET.

  • Moe

Me too! Were is the 9860??? Still waiting for it to be released in Wind.

  • Kirk

not a good time to be buying a blackberry with this huge outage their experiencing from their severs being hacked.

I don’t think this is a real indicator that Wind will be getting the Blackberry 9810 or the 9790. This just seems a comparison between many (not all) the Blackberrys in the Canadian marketplace. First off, it has the Curve 8530 and the Torch 9800, both of which were never Wind-compatible. Second, it doesn’t have the 9850/60 which Wind will be getting. Plus, Telus has announced they will get the 9790, so that may be the reason it’s on this form, so people can compare the Telus 9790 with the Wind 9900 which has better specs.

Personally, nothing will make me happier than seeing a Wind-compatible Torch 9810 – not because I would buy it (the 9810 would be my last choice) but because that happens to be the phone so many other people want to buy, and the more people go to one of the new carriers instead of the old ones, the better off we’ll all be.
