Take a look at that beast up above – it’s looking very circa 2004, running Series 40 with a 2.4-inch display rocking a full QWERTY keyboard. The Nokia X2-01 was officially announced back in November 2010 but will be available on Fido in the coming days. Dummy devices have started to arrive in stores and we’re hearing you can expect this to come in at the low price around the $100 mark, $10 on a 2-year.

Not going to lie, this doesn’t looks all that visually appealing. I hope that its functionality makes up for what it lacks in appearance.

Wow! Competition is really heating up between Fido and Wind in their device line up.
^ Only PM is worse than these 2 ^.

Looks like the roughed up, poor cousin of the E71 on a bad-hair day after a bar brawl recovering at a Laundro-mat!
But at least the phone is priced almost right. with Androids at $130 and under, this phone its about $20-30 dollars too expensive.
To be honest I always wanted a Nokia, just to get a bit of the “European Flavour” now a croissant and a coffee feel better
Than carrying “Anna” or “Belle” in my pocket.
Maybe I’ll buy one just to go with my John Travolta Custume in Halloween, Wonder if that phone would have been cool back then!

There’s no such thing as “Symbian 40″. It’s Series 40, and Series 60, where Series 60 is Symbian-based. Series 40 is the extension of the old Nokia Java system.

Probably a decent phone for communication only… but in this price range why wouldn’t you get a BB Curve?

You buy when it on sale, I expect it around -$60 bucks.

You’ll be getting an entry-level messenger which is probably worth every penny you paid. A decent screen and an awesome keyboard, social skills and messaging and a music package complete with a 3.5mm audio jack and a microSD card slot. For the right user, the Nokia X2-01 is the perfect package at the perfect price.

You meant the other way around right. Nokia has been around since 1865. They keyboard messenger has been around when RIM and you not even born yet. Do your research first.
