Nope. You need to buy it from the carrier on a 3 year term in order to get the discount. You are going to pay full price at the Apple store. Sorry bro. Best bet go into the carrier you want & get it from there. In order to sign up on a 3 year term you need to get a phone. Does not matter if you have a phone already.

Remember (and do tell your friends about this) that if you pay full price for a non-contract phone from Robelus your phone will be LOCKED SOLID! It’s amazing the number of people who don’t know this. If you are going to pay through the nose, at least get it directly from Apple since they ship them UNLOCKED.
Bell, Rogers and Telus should be thrown in jail for not informing their customers about this.

KidCanada I urge you to find a 3rd party site that sells unlock codes for the iphone.

“Its called unlocking through a third party website. Bet u didn’t know about that”
The few people I know who tried that with their iPhones have had nothing but trouble with software updates, etc. Please prove me wrong.

The necessary evil of robelus and all it’s flanker brands to get my hands on a new iphone, who is offering the best deal, hardware is priced the same, but plans and add ons- Which has the most for the least? Biggest bang for the buck if you will!?

Been trying Fido since 5:55 am and keep getting errors. My partner got one at 5:55 and was #69 but I’ve been trying steadily since and it is now 9:45 am and still getting errors. I called Fido and they apologized and say they are fixing it and not sure when it will be working but to keep trying. She also said they can not pre-order for us over the phone, we have to do it ourselves online. Ugh!!

Wasn’t that the price of the BB Storm? and the Treo 700? and a few other high-end phones over the years?

So no-term price for LOCKED version of 32/64GB at Bell and Rogers is more than a full price for UNLOCKED version direct from Apple?

Rogers wants a $40 “reservation fee” – what a crock. They’ll refund the money if you cancel which is totally backwards.
No thanks Rogers, I’ll buy an unlocked iPhone and you can shove your fees and 3-year contracts up your a*s.

I agree, that is IF the $40 fee is not applied to the purchase of the phone. If it’s just tacked on and pocketed that’s robbery

Your 3 year pricings are all wrong. 159 / 269 / 369.
Check Bell, Virgin, and Telus websites.

The pricing is weak and insulting. The same phone cost $199 on a 2 year and we save ourselves $40 for an extra year of contract.

I noticed 3yr prices at Telus are actually, $159, $269, $369 for the 16, 32, 64 respectively – Are they the same at Rogers? Bell? MobileSyrup Oops! I’m still gonna stick with my droid though, another Apple phone that’s behind the curve at launch time.

$869 ($982 with tax) for a 1 Gig dual core smarphone? Give me a break, I would rather buy a real smartphone….Android that is faster and cheaper. For that much money I expected the form factor to have been changed and not recycle almost everything from the iPhone. Disappointing!

Terrible pricing. Memory prices have climbed down but an extra $100 for 32GB of storage? Get bent, Apple.

my N1 is still better. I feel like apple fires their designers for 3 years at a time to save money and just tells foxconn to shove a newer processer in there and forget about the rest. R&D is a joke to them… they laugh all the way to the bank because people will buy this crap.

When will carries realized customers don’t want to pay to be locked in a 3-year contract. I’m not saying I’m right but I predict a lot people would like to only 50-100 dollars for a phone on a 1-2 year contract; 2 being at a stretch.

My Rogers quotes for the iPhone 4S are:
16GB $209 + $35
32GB $319 + $35
64GB $419 + $35
Now is that any way to treat a customer since Cantel/AT&T days?

I got an email from Telus to pre-order my phone but I have opted to stay with my current iPhone 4. I don’t see much incentive to upgrade, I couldn’t care less about the new features since it’s a communications device, I don’t have my life in it as Apple would like. As for iOS 5 well I installed the gold master; 9A334 and had it for about two days before going back to iOS 4.3.5, don’t like 5 very much and I’ll see how long I can stay without having to upgrade. I kept 4.3.3 till last month.

For me right now the iPhone 4S would cost $345 device upgrade price, $15/month for 23 months, plus another 3 years of commitment. So in 5 years I’ll be free to choose a new carrier or so. It’s amazing how Canada is the only one pretty much doing these types of contracts in the world, and telcos here are complaining about competition and unfair advantage….

You guys are all wrong, better than bashing about the 40$ reservation fee, get your facts right before saying nonsense ,
the 40$ “reservation fee” , is deposited back to the account in one of theses 2 reasons =
1, order canceled (we give the money back) ;
2, order shipped AND accepted by the client ;
the 40$ will get credited on the account ,
next time don’t say sh1t about what you don’t know …sheesh

does anyone know if telus charges for incoming calls? it does not say anything about incoming calls on any of their plans, just X anytime minutes….
I use aprox 800 min per month (incoming) my GF is crazy like that.
But outgoing i only use about 100 or so.
i have the option for a corporate plan from telus for 48 per month with 200 min, 5 gigs of data, unlimited text/picture/video messaging voicemail and stuff, but 200 wont cut it if its not unlimited incoming.
unfortunately my GF does not have data so we cannot use skype >.<

Hey guys,
Can someone please tell me how Rogers can legally lock a phone you purchase from them so that they are the only carrier you can use with that phone, even after the phone is no longer on a contract in use. The minute they sell you the phone they no longer own it, how can they lock something that doesn’t belong to them? Total B.S. Can we get a civil suit going against these mobsters? Thanks.
