Mobilicity offers up free Curve 3G, must sign the 12-month Multi-Month plan

The BlackBerry Curve 3G has been around for well over a year now, available on most carriers for an outright cost of about $300. It has a classic BlackBerry design, now unfortunately outdated, running BlackBerry OS 6. Mobilicity has come up with a promo that they deem to be their “best mobile phone deal to date”, hopefully clearing stock to bring in the Bold 9900.

The new carrier has announced that they’ll give you a Curve 3G for free, but you’ll have to sign up on their 12-month $55 Multi-Month plan. The promo starts on September 21st and they state that on a daily basis this deal is “more affordable than a cup of coffee, litre of gas or public transit fare”… The $55 monthly plan gives you unlimited local talk, text and data, BIS, unlimited Canadian and U.S. long distance, voicemail, caller ID, call waiting, call forwarding and 3-way calling. When you sign up on the 12 Multi-Month Mobi knocks the price down to $469.99.

    • When are you going to stop being an embarrassment to yourself and PM, Phoneguy?

Samsung has readily admitted that they have failed to come even close to the 1M unit shipments in sales. THEY’VE ADMITTED IT! The most reported figure is around 20,000 units. This has been legitimately published in both online and printed press outlets, the most recent report I’ve seen was on Tech Vibes a few days ago. The same report can be found all over the place. THIS IS LETGITIMATE NEWS!

So rather than just simply post unsubstanciated and unsubstanciable gossip as you do, I prefer to be able to back up what I’ve said and guide to where you can find that info.

      Can you???

  5. Sounds like a good deal to clear out the BB OS 6 Curve. What other provider can beat a smartphone plus 12 months of service for under $500? With taxes and everything, that’s about $40 per month. Too bad other providers don’t have a deal like this, but what Mobilicity is doing is very smart. :)

    • This is no contract a contract is 3 years and if you break it it is $400. With Mobi you get 1 yr of service and a free phone wake up people stop sleeping on the wheel. This is a great deal and you get all this serive for $$39 plus hst but payed up front. I guess people want there cake and pie at the same time.

    • Out of 1M tablets they’ve shipped, Samsung has only sold 20,000 (Tech Vibe et al). Looks like a great move. LMAO!

  10. so this is basically a 1 year contract and they subsidize the phone to $0. I thought mobi’s philosophy from the beginning is no contracts. but this smells like a contract to me.

    • @Rock Who can afford $400? Anyone with a job and a bank account…rather than paying the $400 over the course of a year, it’s just at one time with no future hassle.

  15. It’s a contract, but then again, so is month to month service with any of the big 3, what with their 30 day cancellation notice requirements. Even then, you’re paying the costs up front. It’s just that you don’t get all of your money back if you want to stop your service before your year is up.
