WIND Mobile puts Bold 9780 on sale: $400 outright and $0 on the WINDTab+

WIND Mobile has just reduced the price of the BlackBerry Bold 9780 – it’s only for this weekend but it can be yours for $0 on the WINDTab+. They have also cut the outright price down too, now only $400. Perhaps they’ll soon announce the new Bold 9900 too.

    • This is more fair than blindly billing $20 per month left on a contract regardless of how much the phone actually cost. So unless you got a high-end phone, you more likely would pay more than the actual cost of the phone.

    • the benefit of a contract, without the cancellation fee, you just buy out the rest of the phone. I fail to see a problem here. Seriously, you need to troll better.

    • I’ve read some pretty idiotic posts online, but phoneguy’s ALWAYS take the cake. I wonder if he actually truly believes everything that he types. If he does… oh boy.

  5. Tempting, but I’m going to force myself not to buy, since the 9900 is already out at T-Mobile and it’s only a matter of time before Wind or Mobi get it, and then it’s all mine! *evil laugh*

    • FACT: The keyboard on the blackberry bold is bigger than the low-res screen.

Thank you and have a nice night folks.

    • buying out the rest of the phone is not a fee in the traditional sense. yes, you’re paying out the rest of the phone. However, that phone can be unlocked (free of charge after 3 months of service with wind), and can be used on other AWS/GSM carriers. You’re guaranteed to be paying less than the original price. Which is a savings without a 3 year contract.

If you’ve been selling phones for 6 years, its no wonder Canadians are so confused with the telecom industry.

  10. Well, if you do a Telus contract and cancel you only pay off what you owe on the phone. The benefit of that is its guaranteed to be paid off in 3 years, even if you have a cheap plan. Props to wind though for getting rid of plan requirements for getting a high end phone.
