Late last night we posted pricing for the upcoming Virgin Mobile BlackBerry Bold 9900 and Torch 9810. It’s assumed that since Bell owns Virgin that they will have the same pricing, if not similar. Checking out the Future Shop and Best Buy websites today shows the $169.99 3-year price point for the 9900 to be true, the 9810 is showing a $169.99 3-year price too, yesterday it was priced at $149.99.
But there’s a twist to all this. Best Buy is stating that the release date is today: “Release Date:08/09/2011″, Future Shop says we can all pic this up in-store only. Earlier indications pointed to a release date for August 16th… Perplexing, confusing and certainly exciting!

I checked the bell website & no where does it show it has anything about the new bold being released today. I called Rogers plus near me & also best buy here also & they both said they have them in stock & future shop sells them as of today. They might be wrong. Who knows.

Big3 are going to sign a lot of people on those 3 year contracts thanks to loyal Blackberry fans.

I am one of them. I would honestly sign a 3 year contract. Remember not everyone has 500 or 600 to buy them out right. Yes i know i would pay more for the 3 years but so be it.

Man, you are the definition of the term “iTard” – someone who takes the time to write an essay on a topic about two Blackberry phones (possibly) being released.

Why does the new bold have a trackpad if its a touchscreen?
Please advise.

Because some people like using the trackpad also… Not everyone is going to use the touchscreen. TBH i rather have both then just the touchscreen.

Yes. All Blackberry devices have emailing built into them. The Playbook is the only one that does not have it.

Hi Ryan, not much. BB0S7 is pretty much a UI change and that’s all. Worth sticking with BBOS6

I’ve had the Bold 9900 for a few days now. I love it. Its a huge improvement from the Bold 9780. Everything just works; hardware is amazing light and thin yet has a classy look and feel. BB OS7 is fast and fluid.

Hey everyone! I got my bold 9900 on rogers yesterday (9th) I got it at the victoria park and ellesmere store! Rogers plus! The Rogers store wasn’t authorized to sell it so the manager made a manual override! I guess it was just my lucky day! The phone, the phone, the phone! Its amazing better than anything I’ve ever used!
