Fido to release the LG Optimus 2X at $425, will be upgraded to OS 2.3 “soon”

Fido will be releasing the Optimus 2X – one of 3 new Android devices coming and now their 3rd to their lineup. This Android will run OS 2.2 but the upgrade to 2.3 is “coming soon”, has a dual-core processor, 8 megapixel camera that shoots HD videos and will be available for $425 outright, $375 on a 2-year and $100 on a 3-year.

  1. Outright price is fine. 3 year should be lower however.

  3. This phone is very troublesome. But it at your own risk. A class action lawsuit is brewing over LG’s lack of support for this phone’s defects

    • Well, cheapest for a reason. Samsung Galaxy S II is still the best phone out there without doubt.

    • @Big3: You really need to learn how to read before you post things. The lawsuit is over the T-Mobile version of the phone, which is specialized. It has nothing to do with the regular production version, which is what Fido is getting.

  5. Great news, what is the release date?

    My contract is up with Fido, I almost have 100$ in Fido $$$, what kind of retention offers do they have? I’m thinking of switching to Bell for the Samsung Galaxy S2 or the Motorola XT-860…

    Any opinions? Free LG Optimus 2 with maybe a beter plan or 170$ S2 with the 55$ 10 friends special offer?

  8. WOw this is awesome!!…Lol @ “class action lawsuit”. I work for fido, the phone hasn’t even launched yet, but i can already see all of the angry complaints. FML
