As for the design, it’s a single piece of polycarbonate and will come in black, cyan, and magenta, but unfortunately there’s no confirmed availability date yet. The N9 also has a 1GHz processor, 1GB RAM, WiFi, NFC, GSM and penta-band WCDMA, GPS and packs an 8-megapixel camera with autofocus, dual LED flash and can record HD videos. No pricing details have been released.
Marko Ahtisaari, Nokia’s head of Design, stated that “With the Nokia N9, we wanted to design a better way to use a phone. To do this we innovated in the design of the hardware and software together. We reinvented the home key with a simple gesture: a swipe from the edge of the screen. The experience sets a new bar for how natural technology can feel… And this is just the beginning.”
