Fido partners with Flipswap for trade-in program called “FidoTRADE”

Fido has partnered with Flipswap for a new recycling/trade-in program called FidoTRADE. You might know the Flipswap name as they currently have a program in Best Buy and Future Shop locations that give you a gift card when you recycle your old clunker to them. The FidoTRADE program will officially launch July 11th (corporate stores only) and works the same way as Best Buy and Future Shop stores. Depending on the value of your old device Fido reps will give you a credit towards the cost of a new Fido phone.

  4. Device trade-in credits are applied against the new Fido phone that customers are purchasing when:

    * they activate their Fido monthly or prepaid service, or
    * as actual Fido customers, they renew their Fido service.

so you can trade in phones once every 2-3 years. if your phone breaks after 1 year and you have to buy a new phone, you can’t even trade in the broken phone.

    • You’re not saying anything new here. With EVERY company if you break your phone 1 year into a 2-3 year contract you have to buy another phone. At least Fido is giving you a trade-in option. What are the others doing, besides nothing.

  5. @jay

you can only trade in WHEN you are renewing a contract OR activating a new line, NOT when you are just buying a phone. So unless they’ve misworded what it says on their website, NO you can not trade in your phone in the scenario that I have written there.

  8. Totally MISLEADING advertising. Trade-in only applies if it is a FIDO phone
